MLRes - Result management

MLRes
The MLRes program benefits from the advantages of the windows environment. We
had to write the program from bottom to achieve some additional benefits that
are becoming rare in todays computing business:
- The program is extremely easy to install and fits easily on one diskette!
- The program stores data and configuration that simplifies transportation
of the installation or individual competitions
- The program uses a efficient and optimised data structure. Due to this
design you can even transport the program and complete data for a
competition on one diskette - or send it by mail!
- The program works efficiently even on modest hardware!
- The program can be used to work with the same data through a standard
windows network
- The program provides easy data overview and intuitive access to
functions
Overview
The innovative user interfaces provides excellent overview of data and
functions. The program consist of three main areas:
- A tree structure to the left with overview over all events, days and
relays in the competition. The selected element in the tree is used to
select the data to work with
- The tabs at the top is used to select wich main functions to get access
to
- The work area is used to present data, enter data or activate functions
In addition there is both menu functions, tool bar functions, status bar
information and a extensive online help.
Competition setup
A new competition is created with two simple dialogs where you provide the
following key information:
- Name and date of competition
- Organisation
- Number of events (disciplines)
- Shooting program for each event
- wich if any electronic target system is to be used
- Separate final
This information is used to automatically create normal competitions. However
the data structure and user interfaces allows the user to create special
competitions from scratch or to modify a ordinary competition configuration. All
elements can be adjusted, including classes, shooting program, awards etc.
This enables MLRes to handle a wide range of ordinary and special
competitions regardless of the complexity.
Reuse data
When you register shooters, a database is built automatically. This database
contains the shooter data (name, class and club). This database simplifies
registration since a match is found very fast. The program is delivered with
some club databases for the norwegian market. This can easily be expanded to
other markets.
Network support
MLRes is a mature network based solution that gives you the opportunity to
work together (even with the same relay) from several PCs in the network. In
this way you can handle shooter registration directly with the program and at
the same time print lists, edit misspelled names etc from other PCs.
Printing and files
A wide range of lists from results to statistics and labels are available.
Most reports can be printed, previewd or saved to different file formats. By
defining award rules you will have access to result lists fitting your
competition. If you have no need for award definition or simply need a result
list before the award setups is ready, you can manually choose all possible list
combinations.
When saving reports to file you can choose between RTF, HTML and plain text
format. The RTF format provides full editing possibility in word processors like
MS-Word.
Exchange with electronic systems
MLRes handles exchange with several electronic scoring systems. The exhange
includes sending name, class, club, startsum etc. to the scoring system and
fetching the results from the ranges after shooting. The following systems are
supported
- Megalink ML2000 from MLLeder
- Megalink X-Link terminal (thru MLXLink)
- Kongsberg Mikroelektronikk MPX97 from Orion
- Sius Ascor SA9001, SA9002 and SA921 from MLLEder
Team competitions
A system for handling team competions are included in MLRes. This system is
easy to use, but still powerful enough to handle almost all possible team
competitions. Both pre-defined competitions and automatic selection of the best
shooters according to given rules are supported. One team competition can mix
participants from different events with varying shooting programs!
WEB registration
MLRes supports import and export for two norwegian suppliers of self service
WEB registration for competitions.
- pamelding.net
- paamelding.no
WEB generation
MLRes generates two kinds of WEB sites:
- WEB pages for automatic audience displays. Chosen lists are displayed
sequentially
- WEB pages for speaker or home site. Komplete lists with links are
generated.
All reports can also be saved to HTML format.
